I think the bane chant change is stupid, most wizards with access to bane chant only have it with 2 dice. It went from a 75% chance to 25% chance in one fell swoop. I'll probably drop it from my lists if its played that way.

the change only applies to shooters, not to melee.

Will still probably drop it. I don't think getting a few extra units with piercing is need of that much of a nerf.

is it a nerf? in the grand scheme of things? holistically? maybe BC is a crutch for overly shooty armies too reliant on it to shoot the oponent off the table. perhaps this just promotes a more rounded game.

I downloaded the Kings of War rulebook.

Seems like a very fast and simple to learn game.

Just one questions – from my understanding, you may use any brand of model as long as it fits on the specified base.

Pretty much, the unit sizes are fixed depending on the unit type. There is a minimum model count per unit but if you have a model that you'd like to represent multiple models I'm sure most reasonable players would be fine with it.

I don't bring a lot of shooting and what I do bring therefore needs to be effective. So instead of having my shooting be effective for 4 or 5 turns it only works for 1 or 2 turns.
Anyone rolling 3 dice for BC still has around a 50% chance for it to work, two dice is 25%.

i think that thats in the faq, using large models to represent a unit instead of the actual unit, is totally cool.
