multi basing and stuff question

Discuss the Kings of War mass combat fantasy game from Mantic Games.

multi basing and stuff question

Postby Captain Sensible » Mon May 16, 2016 3:33 pm

Okay, looking over the Merry's multibasing pics and whatnots I have to ask the following questions.

1: Are you going to convert your existing models to this format?

2: Are you going to use that cork basing technique?

3: Are there more affordable plastic bases in fantasy sizes available?

4: Are you going to start buying models from other manufacturers for this endeavour? Beyond GW or mantic, I mean.

1) Already started. As I finish painting stuff up I multi base it.
2) I use an alternative to cork.
3) My base material is technically free
4) I have some Perry miniatures on the way from the Motherland. Would also like to get some Celtic models as Barbarians, and definitely some halflings at some point. Saw some Halfling Chicken riders the other day that look especially sweet. There are a TON of viable alternatives. Would like to get some Mantic zombie trolls and Werewolves at some point as well. And Wights. Have some Mantic Skeletons I'm building at the moment. Will replace the one's the dog chewed up.

1. At some point yes.
2. Dunno yet
3. I have no idea, I may get some cut at plastic world
4. Already have been. Raging Heroes do beautiful models, Darksword and Reaper do fantastic character mini's although Reaper's website is a [removed] to navigate

Well I am looking at laser cutting some MDF bases for my units. Get a whole bunch made so I can cover off all eventualities. Some with raised lip around the edges and others just flat.

Halflings riding chickens are BOSS!!!! What a super idea. I want it.

Oh, and those Perry twins miniatures and damn nice.

Those raging heroes are also superb.

Those rooster riders are simply menacing! Ah how I miss the old tongue in cheek warhammer we grew up with.
Let a wave of repugnance for the enemy wash over you. Let hatred fill you. Hate is good, for our goal is a Human galaxy. We are called by the Emperor with a sacred duty to conquer it in His name.

Think when they come out I will definitely be getting me some for my League of Rhordia. Can't wait for my English civil War foot knights to arrive from Perry miniatures

1) Yes, but it's going to take a while. (I might even try to spruce up some old paint jobs...)
2) Doubtful. I'll find something I'm happy with though, and run with it.
3) No idea.
4) I have been doing so for ages. No reason to stop now.
Coprophilia - it's a dirty business, but at least it's better than staring at Dark Angel across the table.
