Question on allies in kings of war

Do any of you actually field allies in this game?

I looked at some of the armies, and thought it could be nice to field an allied unit or two, only to find you won't be able to field much if any allies.

Or have I got this all wrong?

I think your wrong.

it's 25% pts can be allies, but the same force choice restriction apply. I.e. you can't have a character without taking a regiment at least. SO say you wanted a Vampire Lord in your 2000pts Kingdoms of Men army, you'd need to take 20 skeletons or 20 zombies, regiment of werewolves or another regiment to take the Vampire.

The only limitation is Good can ally with Good and Neutral armies. Evil can ally with Evil and Neutral armies. Neutral go with anyone.

It's actually very very flexible.

I wanted two units of basilean knights and 6 of those angels. But they're too steep in points.

I also wanted a character and two or so units, but the quota system knocks one of them out. Bit annoying. Could have almost put in a wood elfy army.

Some of those units they have are kinda cool, and I'd like them. Just not a whole army of them.

That elemental thingy is pretty cool. Would be great in my collection. Maybe even two of them they're that cool.

Just play Basilean. They are a cool army (though a bit too goody two shows for me). TJ plays them down here

I don't want to. The rest isn't that great looking. I'd like these units, plus some dwarf badger riders, a pair of rock giants (those elementals) and some centaurs. I don't want the other 250 models for each army though.

You could literally field an army of knights and angels. You don't need to use foot troopers or anything else

But then they all look the same. And that's for inbreeders.
