New Oruks

Ok, so the new Oruks, orcs or whatever they're called these days. Let me open a can of worms

What's peoples thoughts? Please don't use this as an opportunity to slag AoS. I'd like to think people have moved on from that by now, given all the good that has come out of it.

So, apart from the cost, which is...well it's nuts, I mean 20 quid for an orc shaman. But insanity aside, I think as a fantasy model line these are truly shocking, I mean that big thing, the Wyvern, dog with wings whatever it is, shocking. BUT as a 40k low tech Ork army. A Snakebite mob or something, or Lootas maybe. These are really good (except for the dog thing with wings). Maybe even Low Tech Nobz in Mega Armour conversions in there.

I suppose that's GeeDub's tactic. All the models can be used by the 40k guys so it sells on both fronts.

Some context for those who haven't seen the models:

I have to say that I really like the models as models. I don't like them for a fantasy setting, they are just so clearly 40k Orks in power armour.

Although I really don't get the "beard" things on the boar riders. It looks like a cross between a pig and a pelican

I like the shaman, and the blorcs. The rest look like 40k models, which is fine I guess.

yea, also wont be buying anything. prices are silly. and the pelican beard boars are also a little bit weird. would have to see one in person i guess..

just a note on the dog with wings, it's a maw-crusha, a completely new monster - the wyvern still exists as a separate monster in the game :)

in lore black orcs were always these gigantic greenskins that makes other orcs pale in comparison (get it? by being darker?). Now they release these bigass ironjaws, and they really fit the bill. makes even the old black orcs (now ardboys) look weedy.

I find pronouncing orruk as orc is just fine btw. same as aelf as elf. anyway...
