A pair of Shermans for my South African 6th Armoured Division in Italy. Both are from kits that are now discontinued - the Firefly VC is the old Warlord Games resin kit, which arguably has better detail than their newer plastic kit, and the M4A3 105mm is the Rubicon models kit - which is due to be replaced by a kit with better track detail.

As always, more pix and details of the build on my blog..

That is gorgeous, how do you feel about doing commissions?

Thanks for the feedback.

Commissions? Never say never, but no, I dont think I would want to go there. Its my hobby, and I have precious little time enough to paint the things I want to, let alone things I dont want to. And I am a slow painter, so I doubt it would work out as an acceptable financial proposition for either party... :-)

Another 17-pdr anti-tank gun for my South Africans... this time in the form of an M10 Achilles tank destroyer. Rubicon models kit, with crew from Warlord games, and baggage and decals from various sources.

Reinforcement for the Natal Mounted Rifles - in the form of a 14-tonne armoured car: The T17 Staghound. Kit is the resin model from Die Waffenkamer, with additional crew member from Warlord Games. Research notes and additional build details on my blog.

There are some pix of the force - as it was a few years back - on my blog here... the infantry has only had a few small specialist elements added since then. But the vehicles... quite a few more...

I was thinking it was about time to do another group shot, but I will do that once I have added the 5 more Shermans I have waiting for a slot on the painting table - 3 x Mk Vs (Pretoria Regiment), 1 x Mk VC (also PR), and a engineer vehicle with dozer blade (Divisional HQ). I am short of the correct decals for these vehicles - and the supplier is out of stock...

Once the additional Shermans are done I plan to field the entire force in a game planned for a 16 x 6 table... the race for the bridge at Finale, 1945. Slated for about mid-year.

Those Durban lads hate walking, so I gave them some more transport: a pair of White Scout Cars and a Norton 16H for the NMR
